Hi Families!
The 3rd graders are all continuing to adjust well to their new schedule, routines and classes. They've begun a "Do/Done" folder now so they can begin bringing their work home daily to show you. The "Do" side will be for work that they need to "do" or complete at home. The "Done" side is for work that they completed at school to show you so you can check(make sure it is finished, any corrections made if necessary, and it's done neatly). Please remember while having your child/ren make corrections to help them come up with the correct answer so they are learning from their mistakes. This will help them become more independent as they develop their learning skills in all areas of their academics.
Late slips will begin to be issued this coming week. Students should ALWAYS come to school with their "Do/Done" folder of completed work which they will turn into the corresponding labeled drawers by my desk as soon as they arrive in the classroom. I or one of the aides will check at the start of the day to make sure all work has been turned in and everyone is ready to start their day off right!
Please also check your child/ren's folders daily for graded(or commented/stickered) work to empty out so the folder does not become overflowing. Thanks!
We will be measuring Fred and Goliath(our classroom turtles) this week and mark their lengths on a growth chart. We'll take measurements monthly to see if they grow in the bigger tank!
Cookies and Chocolate Chip(our classroom salamanders) have been enjoying the scrumptious and abundant meals of crickets which the students have been supplying. Thank You!
One last reminder, pictures are this week Wednesday:) If your child/ren have a nice outfit for their picture and prefer to not wear it all day, they may bring another top/shirt/pants to change into before their next recess break.
Blessings,
Mrs. Tietz
