Today was another special day! Today we had our first official Spelling class. I have been adding in the subjects gradually because there is such a big change in the process of how they do their school work now from how they did things in second grade. I third grade Spelling, just like in Math, they will use their book to find what they have to do and their answers will be written on a separate piece off paper.
Today we did pretty much the whole Spelling lesson together in class. I also showed them how to write their answers on their paper. Their first spelling test will be on Friday. They have a list of words in their Home folder
s. Your child may or may not choose to bring the list home to study there. During free time and work time they are required to either do homework or do a learning practice activity which includes Spelling words, memory work practice, flash card practice, counting coins, handwriting practice, etc. Many of the kids are doing an excellent job of using their time wisely and completing their work on time and often even early. I am very proud of them!
