Happy first Friday of the school year!
Notes from today:
After our discussion on good sportsmanship yesterday, the class did an EXEMPLARY job at recess today. I was pleased and proud to observe the mature and cooperative way they made decisions about picking teams and how they supported and encouraged each other as teammates, instead of yelling at each other if mistakes were made. Their improvement in attitude and behavior deserves recognition. Please congratulate your child, he or she made you proud today.
We had our first gym class today and learned a few important things:
- some of our feet grew and our shoes are too small, if that was the case the too-small shoes came home today in their backpacks
- if we wear sandals to school we don't have socks to wear in our gym shoes. This happened to a couple of the kids but they were able to find socks in their extra clothes. Please double check with your child to be sure they have socks at school for gym class. Thanks!
Looking to next week:
Hot lunch begins on Monday (chicken patty).
If your child brings a cold lunch please be sure to include any necessary utensils. We had a problem this week since the kitchen was closed and the dishwasher wasn't running. Thanks!
